Why my Windows XP got the status "Validating Identity" for Wireless Connection

Symptom: Wireless Network Connection has a status of "Validating Identity".

Solutions:

  1. Right click on Wireless Network Connection icon. Go into Properties.
  2. Click on Wireless Networks tab.
  3. Find your network located in Preferred networks. Select your wifi network and click on Propertiess.
  5. Go to Authentication tab. Uncheck the box of Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication.
  7. Click OK button.
  8. Status changed to "Connected".
  10. Done.
